❄️Snow shovelling tips❄️

It’s that time of year again 🌨☃️

Winter weather comes with its own injuries, especially the all-too-common back, neck, and shoulder pain from improper snow shovelling. 

Here’s how to help prevent this: 

❄️ Warm up for 5-10 minutes prior to shovelling to get your joints moving and increase blood circulation.

❄️ Pick the right shovel: lightweight, non-stick, push-style shovel with a curved handle (ergonomically correct).

❄️ Push the snow to one side and avoid throwing it. If you have to, avoid twisting and turning through the low back.

❄️ Bend your knees to lift, keeping your low back straight.

❄️ Watch for ice and wear proper footwear with solid grip.

❄️ Take frequent breaks and ask for help. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Marialuisa offers a range of support. She can help with feelings of depression, anxiety, stress, loss and grief. She offers support for those who have experienced or are currently working through trauma or abuse.

Counselling is also beneficial for self-confidence, self-esteem, attachment, relational, and communication issues.

Marialuisa offers both individual counselling and couples counselling, with appointments on Tuesdays between 10:00am and 4:00pm and on Thursdays between 1:00pm and 7:00pm.
