This results in soreness and tightness in the upper back,neck, and pectoral muscles, and a weakness in the mid back muscles and front neck muscles. This syndrome is referred to as Upper Cross Syndrome and is the result of chronic poor posture and not enough attention to the rest of our bodies.
Chiropractic care, including myofascial release techniques and spinal manipulations, can help alleviate the tight and tense muscles and mobilize the restrictions in the joints that result from the tension. However, visiting a chiropractor once or twice a month isn’t enough. Those muscles which have become inhibited and weak due to misuse need to be retrained and their endurance capacities increased. Only by retraining these muscles can you achieve lasting results that will support and reinforce the treatment you get from your Chiropractor.
