
Dr. Carole Smith - Clinic Director
Doctor of Chiropractic, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Provider
Dr. Smith graduated with clinic honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. She is certified in contemporary medical acupuncture (McMaster University), and also has experience treating patients with a variety of different muscle release techniques. She is currently on faculty at the CMCC and is involved in teaching the following courses: adjustive skills, clinical diagnosis, clinical psychology, and problem based learning.
Dr. Smith has treated a variety of patient conditions, including sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, chronic conditions, as well as car accidents and other traumas. Dr. Smith has also worked as an IBI therapist for children with autism for over 10 years, both privately as well as centre based at Erinoak in Halton and Peel. She has experience working with a variety of special needs patients in a wide variety of clinical settings, and spent a year interning at the Muki Baum Children's Center in Toronto doing chiropractic and rehabilitation for the dual diagnosis students at the center. Dr Smith received music and academic scholarships to attend Simon Fraser University and holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in psychology with a focus on children with autism. She is also an accomplished bagpipe player, and has competed in various bagpipe competitions across North America and Scotland, including the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.
Liz
Day - Senior Therapist
B.A. (Hons), Rehab Dip.
Liz Day has been involved in IBI home based therapy for children with autism for 7 years. She has an Honours BA in Psychology as well as a diploma in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has attended various workshops and training including Carbone's Verbal Behaviour workshop, Geneva Centre for Autism training, PECS training and other hands on ABA, behavioural intervention and life and social skill training. She has previously lived in cross cultural settings in Southeast Asia working in the field of health care and team development; in mental health and life skill programs with adults; and held social and life skill groups with adolescents with learning disabilities. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading books and scrap booking memories of great times. Liz brings to the team a rich and wide experience of working with children and families.
Melody Hurtubise - Instructor Therapist
B.A.
Melody graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree, after majoring in Psychology and English, and has worked with children and adults with special needs for almost 20 years. She is currently working as an Educational Resource Facilitator with the Peel District School Board, and has worked as an IBI Therapist for Behaviour Institute and Erinoak.
Melody keeps her knowledge and training of Autism Spectrum Disorder current through training from The Geneva Centre for Autism, as well as ongoing training with PDSB. She has extensive knowledge of the Picture Exchange Communication System and knows some basic Sign Language(ASL).
Jodi Larkin - Instructor Therapist
B.Sc. (Hons)
Jodi received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto with a specialist in Psychology, Major in Philosophy and a minor in Sociology. Upon receiving her degree, she then completed the Intensive Behavioural Science Technology diploma from George Brown College, graduating with Honours on the Dean’s List.
This program provided her with knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA), including intensive behavioural intervention (IBI), discrete trial training, the picture exchange communication system (PECS) and methods to conduct behavioural assessments and implement behavioural interventions. Jodi also completed over 700 hours of in-field Applied Behavioural Analysis at Community Living Mississauga, Geneva Centre for Autism and at a private educational centre for adolescents with Learning Disabilities.
Though Jodi is new in the field of Intensive Behavioural Intervention, she is very much enjoying herself and looks forward to participating in future workshops to expand her knowledge, and hopefully one day receive her Master Degree.
Leah Karges - Registered Massage Therapist
RMT
Leah is a Registered Massage Therapist and a Graduate of Sutherland - Chan Teaching School and Clinic in Toronto, Ontario. She is also trained in NISA (Neuromuscular Integration and Structural Alignment) techniques that address the body's facia as well as Thai Massage. Leah's specialties include pregnancy and child massage, postural re-education, and stress reduction. She also works with compression disorders, low back pain and decreased range of motion, as well as and many other soft tissue/joint discomforts.
Jemal Anderson - Registered Massage Therapist

Jemal has been a Registered Massage Therapist for over nine years and a Doctor of Acupuncture for four years. As an RMT his priority is taking away people's pain. His work experience has led into many areas of the Massage Industry including spas, hair salons, Chiropractic offices, and MVA clinics and he found his pre- and post-game work on a professional sports team, the Hamilton Bulldogs (ice hockey), during the 1999-2000 season to be very rewarding. He will work with you to help you overcome your condition, whether it is symptomatic, chronic pain, or restrictions.
Becky
Hodson - Counselor and support group facilitator

Becky graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Degree in Economics. While working full time as a Market Analyst she and her husband decided to start building their family. Conception did not come quickly or without emotional strain. After trying to conceive for 18 months she and her husband learned they were expecting. While trying to conceive their second child, Becky found a passion in understanding the female and male bodies with respect to reproduction. It was the book Taking Charge of your Fertility that showed her where her career path would lead. Becky participated in the first ever Infertility Counselling course in Toronto and has decided to pursue a Masters degree in Social Work. She runs a support group the last Wednesday of each month that is safe, informal and educational in nature. Although Becky has overcome her Infertility and has two beautiful children, the emotional, psychological, and physical stressors of Infertility and treatments still make her a compassionate and caring counsellor. Becky is also a certified fitness trainer who volunteers to teach spinning at the Burlington and Flamborough YMCAs. She can teach you how to relax through visualization and breathing techniques.
Cathy
MacDonald - Reiki Practioner
Reiki Master
Cathy is passionate about helping people reduce stress and increase relaxation. Having a natural ability to communicate and connect with individuals on all levels, she is a highly effective practitioner who takes the time to educate her clients on how thoughts and emotions affect our physical bodies. Driven by her own search to alleviate her own debilitating symptoms related to fibromyalgia, she discovered the tremendous healing power of Reiki. It provided the mind/body/spirit connection that had been missing in her treatment plan. In her practice she also incorporates, applies, and shares the knowledge gained through her continuous studies. Aside from being a Reiki Master/Teacher/Practitioner, Cathy has completed the following training in her ongoing quest for knowledge, skills and connection: she is also a Life Coach, having completed The Coaches Training Institute - Personal/Professional Coaching program; Ho'oponopono with Dr. Hew Len;The Reconnection with Dr. Eric Pearl; and Body Alignment with Jeff Levine.
Cathy volunteers weekly for Heart House Hospice and provides free Reiki treatments for members of WELLSPRING.
