The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that Infertility affects up to 1 in 6 couples. WHO, in conjunction with the International Committee for Monitoring Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ICMART), has formally recognized infertility as a disease in its new international glossary of Assistive Reproductive Technologies (ART) terminology. The jointly-prepared glossary appeared simultaneously in the journals Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction. According to the glossary, infertility is ‘a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse’.
YOUR HEALTH knows that infertility can be difficult to talk about. Infertility can bring feelings of sadness and isolation as well as put pressures on your time and require couples to make important decisions about treatment and finances. Our goal is to provide support and services not normally offered at fertility clinics. We are passionate about educating and empowering you during pre-conception, conception, and post-conception.Our support groups are a safe and informal environment to encourage discussions about living with infertility issues. You can learn ways to cope with dilemmas and frustrations and share knowledge and insight with others who are having a similar experience.
