Well-being in the work place is not a new trend, however due to more recent research; employers are taking its importance more seriously. Employees' well-being is crucial in increasing productivity, reducing absenteeism, enhancing their outlook and general vitality in and around their work environment.
More than 80% of disease in North America is related to stress and as a result a very real problem in today's work environment. Many businesses suffer huge financial losses via many direct and indirect effects of stress. Stress affects everyone from upper management, mid-management to staff involved in monotonous activities that may not challenge their abilities.
Numerous overseas countries have been tackling the problem of stress and
well-being issues in the workplace for years. Many European firms have developed
an approach to involve complementary and holistic therapies. Reflexology
in particular has proved very successful.
Various case studies have reported numerous employers saving thousands of
dollars per year due to a reduction in sickness and absenteeism. With the
introduction of reflexology treatments in the workplace employers have found
their employees show greater motivation, enhanced work ability and increased
productivity.
By investing in the well being of employees, companies are in fact investing in the success and future of their business. Happy employees are more motivated, committed and as a result experience more job satisfaction. When your employees feel less stressed, appreciated and relaxed they are more inclined to work harder.
