Infertility and reflexology
Tracey Collinson - Certified Reflexologist, Reiki Practitioner, B.A., CR, RP-CRA
Infertility can be an emotionally exhausting, not to mention expensive condition. Often the underlying causes of infertility are unknown. For many women the stress and anxiety associated with failing to conceive can be overwhelming and a reflexology treatment can make them feel more positive and relaxed allowing them to deal with their own fertility issues in a more positive way. Reflexology can assist in helping to achieve the best possible health physically and mentally.
Reflexologists view the soles of the feet as a mini map of the inside of the body. Reflexes and zones of the feet are linked to inner organs and systems, including the fallopian tubes and ovaries. Some points on the foot are associated with a woman's egg production and by manipulating these areas reflexologists can work towards correcting the imbalances, which can hamper pregnancy.
Reflexology works to open the body, boosting circulation and bringing in necessary nutrients. This also helps to detoxify the body through more effective elimination. This balancing effect makes reflexology effective in the treatment of many hormonal conditions and can be particularly effective in kick-starting ovulation in women, who may be encountering problems. It can also help to regulate an erratic menstrual cycle.
It is often of great help to fertility concerns for men to restore their own body back to a state of harmony and balance while preparing for fatherhood.
Professional reflexologists do not claim to cure infertility, however studies have shown that regular effective treatments can have an amazing effect on fertility. The success of conceiving will depend on the individual condition.
